In 1998 Wildwood Calvary Chapel began as a home fellowship in Wildwood Canyon in Yucaipa. It was Pastor Chris’ heart to be committed to what the Lord had shown to the early church in Acts 2:42. They continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine, and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. That intimate home fellowship gathering began to grow and within a short time four other home fellowships had been started. Through much prayer and several months of meeting in homes, the Lord had impressed upon pastor Chris’ heart to begin Sunday services.
In April of 1998, Wildwood Calvary Chapel had is first Sunday service at Wildwood Canyon Park. We had sixty people show up and a church had been birthed. The Lord would begin to open the doors to meet in schools, parks, homes, community centers and coffee shops. Wherever He opened the door for us to gather, we did so. We committed to feeding the sheep and reaching the lost and God was faithful to grant us a place to meet.
In 2006, the Lord opened the doors for Wildwood Calvary Chapel to purchase 16.5 acres of land on the corner of Oak Glen Road and Bryant Street in the heart of Yucaipa. Three years later the Lord miraculously paid the land off in full as we were able to sell 3.5 acres. In 2013, the first phase of our master plan was built that now houses four weekend services and we have recently broke ground on the second phase which will house our student ministry. In the Spring of 2015, God birthed Wildwood Christian Academy, a school committed to discipling our elementary students in the faith. As you can see, God is doing amazing things at Wildwood! We are carrying the vision that God gave us to reach the lost and equip the saints for the work of the ministry here in the Yucaipa and Calimesa Valley. We encourage you to come join us as we get to know our King and promote HIs kingdom.
